FAVITE's Commitment to Social Responsibility
FAVITE firmly believes that social care is a crucial key to sustainable corporate development. Therefore, we integrate this spirit into our corporate culture and take action to give back to society, assisting vulnerable institutions and groups in urgent need.
In March 2024, in response to the global call for energy conservation and carbon reduction, FAVITE's offices across Taiwan simultaneously participated in the Earth Hour event, successfully saving 42 kilowatt-hours of electricity. Additionally, we held a fun environmental quiz to enhance our colleagues' understanding of Earth Hour and energy conservation and carbon reduction.
In May 2024, we continued to deepen our collaboration with the Department of Physics at Chung Yuan Christian University. Following our 2023 donation of optical inspection components worth NT$16.7 million for academic research, we were invited to conduct a lecture on campus for 50 students, with the theme "Basic Principles of AOI and Industry Overview." This aimed to help students understand the applications of AOI technology and sow the seeds of knowledge, hoping that each student will become a future star in the technology industry.
Also in May 2024, our employees and their families joined a beach cleanup event organized by a local environmental group in Qigu Sandbar, Tainan, removing litter from the sandbar and restoring its natural beauty. This event not only cleaned the coastline but also raised environmental awareness among our employees and their families.
In June 2024, we donated eight high-quality used laptops, valued at NT$180,750, to Taiping Elementary School in Guansi Township, Hsinchu County, to support digital learning resources in remote schools, promote educational equity, and help reverse the learning disadvantages of underprivileged children. This provides them with sufficient resources to meet the challenges of modern education, demonstrating FAVITE's support and commitment to their learning journey.
In October 2024, FAVITE was honored with the Ministry of Education Crystal Award by Chung Yuan Christian University, recognizing our investment in talent development and affirming the deep friendship between our industry and academic collaboration. This award not only acknowledges our past efforts but also serves as an important motivation for future educational cooperation. We hope to cultivate more outstanding optical talents for Taiwan through industry-academia collaboration, contributing to Taiwan's AOI industry.
In December 2024, we continued our third year of collaboration with St. Joseph Nursing Home in Hukou Township, Hsinchu County, and St. Teresa Children Center in Baoshan Township, Hsinchu County. Staff from the nursing home and children from the center made Christmas wishes, and FAVITE employees transformed into Santa Claus to fulfill these wishes for local social welfare institutions, bringing warmth to vulnerable groups. This year, we donated goods and cash totaling NT$323,266.
At St. Teresa Children Center, which primarily serves children with polio and those facing significant adversity, we helped purchase clothing, stationery, and daily necessities to alleviate their needs and allow them to focus on their studies.
St. Joseph Nursing Home, the first public-private partnership for dementia care in the country, is dedicated to providing a safe and warm care environment for the elderly, currently housing 184 seniors with dementia and mobility impairments. We sponsored medical equipment, daily necessities, and food to provide better facilities for the residents and the St. Joseph team, demonstrating our care for seniors with dementia and mobility impairments.
In addition to material donations, we further recruited employees as Christmas volunteers, collaborating with a local church to accompany the elderly at the St. Joseph Nursing Home's daycare center during a warm and lively Christmas caroling event. Afterward, we helped pick up trash and trim plants in the nursing home's courtyard to reduce the staff's workload.
Through these charitable actions, we hope to inspire more colleagues to step forward, actively participate in social care initiatives, and continue to make positive contributions to society. We are committed to continuing to fulfill our corporate social responsibility and build a better world.
